His Excellency Dr Kenneth Comninos Michael, AC

Dr Kenneth Michael AC was recently installed as the thirtieth Governor of Western Australia. He has a distinguished record of service to the Western Australian Community in many fields, both academic, and as a senior public servant.
He was Chancellor of the University of Western Australia, Chairman of the East Perth Redevelopment Authority, Chairman of the Western Australia Museum and a member of the Economic Regulation Authority. Formerly he served as Commissioner of Main Roads, Public Service Commissioner, Western Australian Independent Gas Pipelines Access Regulator, Acting Western Australian Independent Rail Access Regulator and Chairman of Commissioners for the City, Town and Shire of Albany.
Dr Michael was named Western Australian Citizen of the Year in 2001, and awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal in 2003 for service to the public, engineering and the Greek Community. He was elevated to be a Companion in the Order of Australia in the 2006 Australia Day Honours.
Clinical Professor Fiona Wood, AM

Clinical Professor Fiona Wood is currently Director of the Western Australian Burns Service. She is the Chairman of The McComb Foundation established in 1999 with scientist Marie Stoner. Fiona is co-founder of Clinical Cell Culture (C3) and Chairman of their Scientific Advisory Board. In addition, Fiona is a consultant Plastic Surgeon to Royal Perth and Princess Margaret Hospitals, as well as being a mother of 6.
Fiona has been involved in a number of education and disaster response programs associated with her interest in burns and published a variety of papers over the years. In addition, she has been the recipient of the 2003 Australian Medical Association 'Contribution to Medicine' Award and an Order of Australia Medal for work with Bali bombing victims. She was named West Australian of the Year for 2004 and 2005, and received the honour of being named Australian of the Year in 2005.
